The Resonators, originated out of a musical collaboration stemming from the early days of the pandemic. While their respective rock bands were put on pause due to venue closures, Bruce, Ralph and Rich came together to create an alternative musical outlet.
Rich Lockwood has been entertaining audiences on guitar and bass for decades. Everything from school dances, college parties, worship services, to backyard campfires; he was there providing creative riffs and rhythms. Rich grew up on great 70’s and 80’s rock, but just loves to play any type of music that motivates you to move to the beat.
Ralph Flores is a multi-percussionist that plays Latin percussion, other hand instruments and the standard drum kit. His passion for percussion lead Ralph to Cuba twice to study Afro-Cuban rhythms which contribute to his versatile grooves and catchy back-beats. Additionally, Ralph provides sweet harmonies as well as lead vocals. He’s inspired from old school soul music, Americana and country rock music.
Bruce Wexler is a died-in-the-wool San Francisco era classic rocker (a little Jerry anyone?). Like many musicians, he cut his teeth as a young teen playing the county fair and local school dances in the Bay Area. He is a founding member of a couple local Poway based bands, playing classic rock at clubs and special events around San Diego for years. He delights in the sound of his guitar and some good harmonies, as mastered by his favorite classic rock and soul artists.
The Resonators, playing good ole classic rock and blues, just a bit more softly.
