Domaine Artefact

2017 Rincon del Diablo

Grenache, Syrah & Mourvèdre Blend

56% Syrah
14% Grenache
30% Mourvèdre
The Domaine Artefact 2017 Rincon del Diablo is a full bodied GSM with aromas of crushed potpourri, dried lavender, purple flowers, and mustard seeds. On the palate, a great deal of red fruit, blueberry, with spicy lavender vanilla and Italian herbs. As the wine opens, nuanced Cocoa and bittersweet chocolate. Tannin structure is elegant and integrated. This wine is complicated and well balanced, with a lingering finish of spices and leather.
All varietals were destemmed except for 30% of the Grenache which was fermented whole cluster. All varietals were fermented separately and racked to 228-liter 1-year French oak barrels and 50 % 1-year French oak 500-liter puncheons. All varietals were aged for 19 months separately and blended in January of 2019.
Our Rincon del Diablo will pair well with Mediterranean dishes like grilled meats, vegetables with rosemary, olives. It also pairs with wood fired pizzas, grilled lamb, game or fillet mignon.
